HRD 380 Task Analysis Assignment
The Barn at Walnut Grove
A Performance Improvement Proposal
About the Project
As a part of the Human Resources Development (HRD) minor at James Madison University, students are challenged to learn, design, and experience real world encounters in the HRD field. For this particular class that this project was designed for, students were asked to work with real businesses in the community and evaluate it based on various skills taught in the class. The class is designed to provide students with basic skills in the area of performance analysis and subsequent assessment. This class also requires students to work with real businesses in the community and successfully analyze and evaluate the business for various characteristics and applications learned in the classroom.
Why we wanted to partner with the Barn at Walnut Grove
We first learned about Paula Lam, the owner, after she visited with one of our team member's class. She discussed her work here at James Madison University and how she was able to balance her work life while running an entire venue during the weekend with little help. We were inspired to learn more and asked to meet with Paula to see if she would be interested in participating in our semester long project. She happily agreed and thus began our journey.
