Proposed Intervention

  1. The goal of our intervention is to increase the booking numbers per year for the Barn at Walnut Grove. The current goal for the business is 20 booked events for 2019. As of November, the client has only reached 18. Our new goal is to have two events booked per month, which would be 24 events for the 2020 year. Expanding marketing outlets is one way to reach this goal. Having a strong social media presence will make the client more well known online and reach clientele from all across the country. Currently, the client has a Facebook page and stays fairly active. By including an Instagram and Pinterest page, clients will be able to view the property and see what amenities it has to offer. he owners could also refocus the target population to hone in on their specifically wanted clientele. Examples of how this could occur would be to reach out more within the community by appealing to high schools to use the venue for dances and market more to other colleges in the area like Blue Ridge Community College and Bridgewater University. 
     

  2. Potential low-cost methods for expanding the marketing for the venue is implementing the use of paid-for sponsored ads on social media platforms and offer percentage off the total price for people who refer friends that book reservations at the venue. To get the most out of the business, it is most beneficial for the owners to market to more than just weddings. This would allow for the prospects  to sample what expertise is offered at the Barn. 
     

  3. Methods for appealing to potential clients is to display the prices and such on the website to give a ball-park estimates of various packages. This would increase sales in one way by appealing to customers who are searching for weddings venues conveniently.
    In addition, a good tool that the website would benefit from is creating a pop-up notification for clients to request meetings/submit questions for the owners after they have surfed through all of the site pages.

     

  4. Showing what resources and accommodations are offered at The Barn at Walnut Grove will give a more competitive edge as it puts focus on what The Barn has that other venues do not. One method of doing this would be to get involved in local bridal shows to showcase the attributes of the venue. Experience, results, and context are what we should focus on, as it is not always about cost!
